Jestar Siberians
Classic story: first Siberian was a backyard bred dog. Companion second Siberian had a grandfather that was a champion...I thought," I could show her". Well, that year could fill a book, what with the trials, tribulations & simple fun times with our Siberians.
I acquired the brother-sister act Lake & Vixen, and was off & running. Lake & Vic completed their championship at 2 and 2 1/2 years of age, respectively, as well as garnering a silver medal from ISDRA for skijorring. In that time period I was gifted with a lovely bitch from Julie Lamonska of Kansa Siberians, who went on to become CH Kansa's Windsong O' Jestar, a AKC CH at 18 months! She was lovingly welcomed back by her breeder after a short stint with Paula Marcy of Huskavarna Siberians.
Breeding Lake resulted in a genetic glitch coming to the fore, and my breeding program was terminated. I enjoyed the next years, with my 4 Siberians, Kenai, Lake, Vixen & Vixen's daughter Morgan. As the pack diminished, my thoughts turned to show puppies. I have been blessed with Grace & Dream, and am content.
I've been a member of an all-breed club, Marshfield Area Kennel Club since 1994, The Siberian Husky Club of the Twin Cities since 1995, and recently the Siberian Husky Club of America. I've also been an active member of Trailblazers Sled Dog Club and ISDRA. After all, they are not just pretty dogs...they need a job!
Update 1-30-2012...Rio starts his show career at 13 months by going Winner's Dog at the North Star Working Group show at the Land O Lakes Cluster in St. Paul Mn....his first time in the ring!
